LAFF OPERATION AND BENEFITS

Latvian National Freight Forwarders and Logistics Association LAFF
(abbreviated Association LAFF) was founded on August 15, 1994.

ASSOCIATION LAFF

LAFF is a non-governmental organization, which consolidates Latvian freight forwarders and holders of customs warehouses on a voluntary basis, in order to facilitate the organization of freight conveyances, as well as the development of the services related thereto.

LAFF REPRESENTS

the interests of the freight forwarders and holders of customs warehouses in state institutions and in the consultative Council of the customs and entrepreneurs; this association is the member of the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Employers’ Confederation of Latvia.

PARTNERS OF LAFF

Since 20 September 1994, LAFF as an ordinary member of the Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations FIATA as a national association. Since 1998, LAFF is a member of IFWLA , the International Federation of Warehousing and Logistics Associations.

Participation in drafting of laws and regulations in areas of tax policy, customs legislation and

Meking of contacts

LAFF helps Association's members to establish contacts with foreign

The LAFF Association organizes professional training for freight forwarders for its members;

Cooperation

Cooperation with professional associations in Latvia, participation in work of Cooperation Council of Transport and Transit Association;

Member meetings

Regular meetings for association’s members — warehouse operators and forwarders, discussing the issues related to practical application of legislation and everyday problems. Where necessary, public officials are invited to the meetings;

Networking

Association LAFF organises professional training of forwarders for its
members;

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF LAFF

As of 1 January 1996, the members of Association LAFF abide by the General Terms and Conditions of the Latvian Association of Freight Forwarders (LAFF) Association LAFF has agreed on introduction of these Terms and Conditions with the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, because every dispute arising out of the contracts entered into in compliance with aforesaid Terms & Conditions, will be settled in the Arbitration court of the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Rules of said Arbitration court.

JOIN LAFF

Any economic operator registered in Latvia and operating in freight forwarding, freight storage, shipping and logistics sector as well as other persons interested in development of this sector can become a member of the Association.

Terms & Conditions

General Terms & Conditions of the Association LAFF, which accurately define rights and obligations of freight forwarders and customers of freight forwarding services, allow quick and professional settlement of disputes in the Arbitration court of the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry;

Association LAFF issues certificates confirming forwarder's competence and guarantee of liability to the freight forwarders Forwarding agents and consignors from
Latvia and abroad prefer certified forwarders when entering into contracts;
